There has been some negative press about K&N air filters circulated by producers of foam filters, but it has turned out to be just false propaganda so keep your K&N`s!

I say use whatever turns you or your girlfriend on but keep in mind that in dusty conditions K&N recommends the use of a pre-filter and pre-filters restrict airflow.

It's ACCELL, AMSOIL or UNI for Me (NO Pre-Filters Required)

Plus they are easier and less expensive to service.

It amazes me how Amsoil can run industry ASE & ASTM standerdized tests and prove that a competiors product is not up to par and some still will not belive!!! You know guys all you have to do is run an oil test with the K&N in place then run the test with the Amsoil filter in place!!! I guess that would make too much sense!!! Opions are not worth as much as good science!!!Oil wetted cloth flows great but it does not protect great. You can not "eat your cake and have it too" everything is a comprimise!!! All we trying to tell you is what should be obvious. If you want to keep dirt out you have to use a filter that you can not see through. If you wanted to you could use a stainless steel mesh screen in place of you regular oil filter. They are reusable and offered through Summit raceing. These filters are used on alot of race vechiles. They do not work that well but they sure do flow.

Emory,
I was pleased to see you state "producers of foam filters" and not just one manufacturer. I've seen posts here where people bash "AmsoilSponsor" about negative posts but I for one have never seen AmsoilSponsor post a negative K&N thread. But again ... I will. :-) Here is my 2 cents:

From a lube engineer's perspective that looks at a hundred or so oil analysis results a day, I would highly recommend you ... or anyone running a K&N or other aftermarket air filter ... do an engine oil analysis to determine that the filter is indeed doing its job.

I can EASILY spot K&N equipped vehicle oil analysis results ... as in 90% of the cases the filter keeps out bricks and birds very effectively ... but little else.

The #1 cause of reduced engine life is dirt. The #1 engine oil alert I look at is dirt.

If you look at a K&N filter you can see through the medium very easily.

In honor of the passing of Elvis, Thank ya, Thank ya very much.

Yes Amsucks uses industry standardized tests but there is evidence that the tests have been manipulated to discredit K&N.Amsucks wants a piece of this market and this is how they get it.I`m tired of Amsucks, all they do is discredit other manufacturers and their products. This is not their job,Amsucks is not the official watchdog of the lubrication and filtration industry.Rule # 1 in marketing, always sell and promote your own product without bashing the products of your competitors.
