Subject: '96 Blower Problems, Help Please IP: Logged
Message: The blower motor on my '96 Dakota when out last week. I replaced the motor, and nothing. So I replaced the switch, and still nothing. So I tracked it down to a very high resistance at the switch resistor coil under the hood. I replaced them, and still no luck. I am asuming there might be a fusible link somewhere that Im missing, but I can't find it. Or are there any other suggestions. I live in Phx and no AC is starting to be painful. The AC works fine, it engages when I push the button, just no blower to get the cold air in the cab. I work in the mobile audio industry, so I can help with any stereo questions you may have.

Message: We are having the same problem with our '96, although it's probably not quite as hot here (90's) as it is there. It hasn't quit yet, but it's on its way out. Check for voltage on the plug that plugs into the under hood resistor, the large gray wire should have power, and see if it's melted or anything like that. I take it you already checked the fuses in the fuse box.
