Subject: my unhappy drive home!! IP: Logged
Message: well i got off work today, and started driving home. about a mile down the road, i decide to let her rip! all of the sudden i hear POP! i come to find out that a blew the $hit out of the stock air hat (big hole in the middle and blew out the seam) i figure no big deal i have another.
i get about 1/4 of a mile from my house, and in the middle of a turn, i feel the rearend dance around a little then all is back to normal. i think to myself "i dont remember a pothole there". oh well..
i get home to find my LR tire flat as hell and my rim bent in 4 spots!!! wtf?? come to find out my valve stem ripped and tore up my rim and tire! oh well....

Message: Mr. 20's, you got no rubber anyway, just ride on the rims. You didn't even know you had a flat!
I'd check on what put the hole in your air hat though.

Message: My guess is that the boost from the Powerdyne blew the airhat, Save. :0)
Eric,
Man! Your making -too much- power! (Never thought I'd say that), or getting too good of grip! Your -tire- didn't slip, the rim did! Ach! Tell you what, to ensure that embaressing problem doesn't occur again, I'll cut you a deal and trade you my truck straight up. What do you say? :0)

Message: steve i dont have a boost bypass valve, so when i let off, the pressure from the blower blew the airhat apart.
todd, im not making that much power..lol i was not giving it much gas around the corner to do that. the valve stem just failed...;-( a little .10 part is causeing me some money.
i would trade, but black trucks are hard to keep clean. ;-)

Message: I'm not running boost but I've had that problem back when I had my stock airhat on & actually still do, except its opposite when I punch it I guess its letting in too much air and lets out a big POP.
But yeah you might wanna get a boost bypass valve.
I know this is off the topic but what kinda lowering kit do you have? How much is it lowered and did you use blocks or shackles in the back? Can I use my stock shocks for a 2/2 drop?
