 Subject: accessing (pcm) error codes?

could anyone please tell me how to check my pcm or error codes on my 2001 dak? i tried the key thing and maybe i did something wrong, i must not be doing it right

Turn the key on (not start)
Wait for the ABS light to come on
Turn key off. Repeat for a total of 3 times and look at you odometer.
Another "GeWizz" thing is hold the trip button down and turn the key on. Release button when odometer numbers disappear.
