Message: Polyol Esters SUCK! Have you ever seen that stuff burn? It's worse than the normal cokeing you get from waxed oils. With everything considered it's a draw.

Message: Mobil 1 is a great product, as long as you enjoy having to get under the truck and change the oil every 3000 miles. If that floats your boat, go for it. I know Mobil DELVAC is a more durable Mobil product, meaning extended drain intervals, just don't know if they make it in 10W weights or W weights. I have seen it in Walmart, but I think it was 15W-40 or something like that.

Message: Well,
I change my mobil 1 about every 5,000, filter too.
Never seems that dirty. If i was going to go 3,000, I'd just get dino oil.

Message: I change my Mobil1 every 3500 and its black. I've recently started using the Mobil filter as well and that seemed to help a little. I guess you get what you pay for. I think one reason for my black oil was the fact that my truck was spark knocking, producing extra unburnt fuel. I just install 3923's with my last oil change and reset my ECU and the knock seems to have disappeared except for a slight ping at 1500rpm under load. My truck has 40k on it.
