Subject: Control Arm Bushings on a 2001
IP: Logged

Message:
I rotated my tires this weekend and noticed that on both sides, my upper control arm bushings look like they are getting dry rotted (they have many small cracks). The truck has 14K miles and is a 2001. I've heard that the passenger side does this because of the exhaust manifold, however its on both sides and just doesn't make sense that this is normal. I haven't asked my dealer yet, but I'm wondering if anyone else has the same thing happening.

I took my '01 QC in for suspected ball joint problems, but they told me it was the control arm bushing. I took it in to have the work done, and they replaced the whole lower arm. I haven't looked at the drivers side. Mine had 20000 miles.
