Message: Simple question. Those of you installing your own amplifiers under either of the front seats, what do you do, if anything, to secure them? Is any manner of isolation needed? Other than the ground connection of course...
thanks!

Message: If you have the room (height), mount the amp to a thin piece of plywood or fibreboard, then mount the board to the floor. To secure it, you can use Taptites, or go the distance and use sheet-metal nuts/bolts. If you don't have the room, use a flat washer asnd a rubber washer at each mount, then silicone the shit out 'em - including the screws. I've used this basic method in several cars with great results.

Message: I usually just punch small holes in the carpet (using the amp mounting holes as a template) and put tiny screws in from the back of the carpet and secure the amp with matching nuts. Then I put tape on the screw heads to keep them from scratching the paint underneath. It works for me and I don't like drilling holes in my cars....

Message: I've got a Jensen amp under both of my front seats. They were so tall, I didn't have room for plywood. So, I just cut a slit in the carpet and used self tapping screws with small washers. It worked great! I did it last summer and I've never had problems with either of them.
