Subject: tonneau cover, help! IP: Logged
Message: I installed a quick hatch tonneau cover on my 02 club cab. Since then i noticed when I pop the hatch on the cover there are lines rubbed in the paint on the bed rails from where the foam from the cover rubs the rails. The lines look almost like orange peel in the paint. I wax the tops of the rails every time I wash the truck. Has anyone else had this problem? If so has anyone found a fix for it? I am just worried if this continues, it may wear the clear coat away totally.

Message: Get a bedliner sprayed in over the rails. May not be the cheapest solution, but it will definitely save your paint.
I, personally, have a gull-wing tonneau on my QC, and was running into problems where the weather seals were wearing lines along the sides of the box & along the length of the tailgate. Thankfully, I was all ready in the process of getting it sprayed when it became noticeable.
