hey i saw this on ebay today

www.cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1849789850

will that fan motor actually improve the performance of an intake? cuz if it does, im sure poeple like me who have a homebrew intake can add this on as well.

bad link. If you are refeing to what i think you are, a fan that goes in line with the intake, it won't do any good. You would need a turbo aro supercharger setup.

Oh men!!! You mean actually someone already stole my idea? I couldn't see the picture but my idea didn't involve just a regular house fan.je,je. It was more like a turbine type of industrial fan that was 3" in diameter(perfect for HB intake)and running on 12v,5Amps. That sucker could blow 1700 cfm's or whatever you call it. the best of it is that the motor was a 3phase motor so you could actually control the speed with a potenciometer!!. I forgot the website where I found this fan but when I was searching, I was searching for industrial blowers. My idea was that if you could match the speed of the air at which the engine is vacuuming and suply it with a blower, then it would create absolute zero restriction on the intake, which to my theory would increase performance. Now I know you also have to compensate on the exit, to which I also thought on designing a "bypass valve" to eliminate the cat and muffler for those quick take offs. something you could control electronically to switch between one or the other. That would also apply for the intake blower. Or maybe I'm just crazy. I don't know what do you think audience? for those dakota gurus, I would appreciate any criticism or if this idea is not possible, why?

i dont know man, if u just create 0 restriction, i dont think it would do much, now if u force feed air into it, like a turbo or somethin, then once again, its the same principle, but i understand what ur sayin, how bout those tornadoe fans u put on top the TB, they just spin the air into the intake.

Man I mounted my old revlon blow dryer onto the
intake. Now I know everyone is saying that won't work the blow dryer is AC not DC. Hah, I figured that out already, it is connected to an ac/dc converter. And the potenciometer is mounted to the TB so when I rev the engine it turns up the power on the blow dryer. Oh and get this I left the heater element hooked up, b/c the heated air turns the fuel spray into vapor. Another benefit is that the fuel is already hot, so it doesn't take much more to make the fuel combust. I figure it gives me at least 150 HP extra at the rear. Need more info, just contact your local crack dealer he will hook you up with some good s&^% so you can figure out how to install this setup.

Hehe, guess I turned this whole thread into SWILL.

Pretty good huh.

I dunno about the vapor there, Michael. Think you need to run that blow dryer through an intercooler or, at least, a nice beer coozi with ice inside. :-)

Seriously, if it's one of these e-Rams at http://www.electricsupercharger.com/, I've heard definitively that they DO increase performance. Just a little expensive for the gain.
