Subject: Removing Sap
IP: Logged

Message:
I've got some real nasty sap on my truck that, unfortunately has been there for about 1 week. I haven't had a chance to wash my truck and the sap has been baking in the sun for a couple days now. I've tried some bug/tar remover and it doesn't seem to help. I did a search and found some posts relating to this, but I need to know if there's anything out there that will get rid of this crap easily. Thanks!

dukie57,I know this might sound like a realy crazy thing to try but I have done it with know adverse affects.
get a (new) sponge and some soft scrub, wet the area that you have the sap on put some soft scrub on the sponge and rub gently across the sapped area. remembr do not put that much pressure on the sponge. It should come of after a few wipes. I know this works because I have had to do this to three of my vehicles. If you are weary about this method, then try to do just a small area and see how it works.
one more thing, when you are done and all the sap is off, go ahead and apply a good wax on the surface. If you use a carnuba wax, this will prevent sap and other crap from sticking to your truck to hard. good luck.
