Ok so this is what happen, I instaled a electric fan, works great, well I have it wired to my fuse box in the cab, it goes on when the key goes on, well after I turn off the Kota, like 5 seconds later I hear a noise, it kinda sounds like a plastic gear grinding, It does that real quick, no problems Im just concerned.

oh I also put a new battery in.

You need to isolate the fan with a relay. When you kill the power, the fan becomes a DC generator while it's coasting to a stop; sounds like it is sending power to something else in the same cicuit. Made this mistake years ago-had the compressor clutch and fan wired in parallel. When I switched off the compressor it would slowly disengage; the armature was slipping on the rotor and making a heinous sound. Use a 20A headlight relay or equivalent. Rat Shack has got them.

Cool, So I just need to go to raido shack and tell them I need a 20A headlight relay? Where dose the relay plug into, under the hood panel or in the cab?
