Hey, i know theres alot of Different grilles out for the Dakota, so im wondering if everyone that has either a billit grill or a different grill could post pics of them on ur truck. Im going to order a grill soon and im trying to see what grill looks best.

Thanks Reker. I really wanted kind of a SRT-10 look, and I looked everywhere and couldn't find what I wanted. Mine is actually chrome stripping, it fits over the existing grille slats. It cost me about $55.

Its not hard to do the relocation at all. And its cheap.
All you need is 2ft of steel cable, 2 cable clamps a hollow tube of something{ I used a square brass tube } and some ppl like a ring or a hook to grab on too. you can buy everthing for under $10.
I have pictures of what mine looks like...
Also the only other thing that i have run into is that if you bring your truck in for work they might bitch about it seeing last time I had to sign that if they forget to close the hood its not thier fault coz I mod'ed the secondary hood release. I thought it was a bunch of crap.

Has anyone thought about painting theirs??... my dakota is Intense blue with the Silver Stickers so i was thinking maybe i should paint the grille Silver and clear coat it, or i could put silver tape over it??....

I bought it off ebay, but I know dodgeboy has bought some from auto supply stores.
Zaurusman painted his grille on his red dak, dark charcoal grey (just the slats). It looks pretty good.

do you have to do the latch relocation with the steet scene grill?? i only ask because i saw one that had a hole in the grille to get to the latch. are they all like that?? it didn't look very good IMO.

yes but it is not difficult. the ss grill comes w/ everything needed and is a simple installation. there is no need to drill an unnecessary hole in the actual grille.

Probably the least expensive grille mod out there:
Next I want to get the rain gutters mesh, paint it flat black, and hide it behind the stock grille just to conceal the engine bay innards from sight and rocks.

thanks, i got the idea from dakotaman2002 i believe, or whoever it was that used gutter guard to make their own grille. i used to have fog lights but some idiot at my school ripped one of them out. instead of going out and buying new ones, i decided to make my own custom covers. i saw the gutter guard idea on this site and used it to make my own covers for the fog lights openings. i think it goes really well w/ the ss speed grille.

i have to respray paint it every couple weeks because it starts to fade. i just mask everything off and spray it, not that difficult because its such a small section
