Message: I'm thinking of buying a fiberglass tonneau and I just came back from a Leer dealer. They want $750 for one that is painted the same color as my Dak (black) installed and with a lifetime warranty. How does that price sound ? Anyone out there have a Leer tonneau ? Your thoughts ?
Also, pros and cons of a leather or fiberglass one. Thanks,
Bud

Message: Hey,
I have a fiberglass cover painted to match my truck and I love it... It gave me a little bit of extra weight in the back end and improved my highway fuel mileage. I was just calculating my average fuel mileage driving around the city and I'm getting 18.7 MPG... That's not bad... My truck is a '02 CC 4.7L 4x4 auto with 3.55 LSD... I have pictures at http://www.geocites.com/sugar_buzz01
Regards,
Aaron
P.S. I can't really tell you if that's a fair price or not... I got mine free from the dealer... They screwed up on my contract and needed me to re-write it... But I know that it cost the dealer $700 CDN... Out the door for the average guy it was $1300 installed and painted... That's Canadian as well... Good luck..

Nice truck and boat ! Good luck with both of them.
I live in south eastern Pennsylvania if that matters on the price they set.

Message: Actually when I went to the dealer I went in to order a new R/T but because of the boat, bought the best 4x4 they had on the lot... Seems the R/T's aren't very practical for hauling or using as a "truck"... Not to mention the winters we get here with all the snow... I'm happy with my decision... There's a guy with an R/T around here and we lined up at a set of lights... His R/T is completely stock and he didn't really beat me by any stretch of the imagination... The best part was when we pulled into a back parking lot to chat... He had to take the driveway in and I flicked the switch for 4 wheel drive and went over top of the dirt piles and was waiting for him when he got there... heh... Chalk one up for the 4x4 over the R/T... hahaha
