Subject: Bad performance in rain? IP: Logged
Message: Do you guys ever get bad performance in the rain? It might be my tires, but when i took several corners in light rain one day, the truck would always spin out a bit. Anyone else have this kind of problem?

That does depend, somewhat, on your tires...but the trucks are really light in the back and break free much quicker in the rain. Little trick: Put a sandbag behind the rear wheels (one on each side and in the bed) and the traction will be increased slightly.

Message: Light rain is the slickest, mixes with the surface oil and deposits on the road. How much tread is left on the tires? If it is below4 or 5/32s, time to go.

Message: Godgmbler, I know exactly what your talking about. I have had the same experience in my 93 4x4 longbed Dakota w/318. The worst was on the way to work one morning. I was making a right hand turn and I guess I gave it a little to much gas because as I came out of the turn, the truck kept turning so I corrected and started spinning that direction. I had to correct for a third time and started spinning right again, but couldnt correct out of that one and ended up broadside to oncoming traffic. Luckily there light just turned green and they were just entering the intersection, but it all still got my heart racing!
