I need to know the part number for the strongest springs that dodge makes for the 2001 4x4 Dakota!!! I am considering custom springs but would like to know what OEM has. I do not want overload springs but will use them if I have to.

Sandman take a look at these Timbren Load boosters. I bought a set and now can have 1500lbs in the box and still not look squashed. You can set them so they don't touch the axle until it is loaded a little. That way it rides as good as stock. Nice inexpencive alternative.

They look like a really big bump stop that will compress more than a solid one. Would definitly effect ride quality with a load in the bed, but shoudl save the frame and axle from damage.

It takes loke 3000 LBS to fully compress them though. Ride quality while empty is the same but much more solid when loaded. Helps prevent sway big time. Should be a good thing with a camper.

I don't think they would work with lowered vehicles as the mounting bracket is a good inch off the frame + the hight of the rubber bumper its self. The bumper could be cut but I think it would still be worse than the stock rubber bummper. The ones on my 2001 were a good 2-3" high.
