Message: I need to tap into a +12 ignition circuit on my 97 dakota. I have no idea where to start to look. I would rather just go to the battery put instructions tell me it must be wired through the ignition circuit. Any help guys?

Message: Well it depends on what you are wireing.
The size wire I would recomend is NO BIGGER than 8 Gauge wire when wireing ANYTHING to the Fuse Box.
Take for instance I wired my Radar Detector in through the fuse box.
First you need a Volt-Ohm Meter and a Butt-End Connector Kit to do the job. You can find any of this stuff at the local Auto Parts Store.
Look at your fuse box and find a place that doesn't have a fuse in it.
Then you need to find out which one has 12volts only with the ignition turned ON using the Volt-Ohm meter.
Once you do that run your wires and use a Butt-End Connector that WILL FIT in the fuse slot that is hot Only when the ignition in ON............
And that's it. My Radar Detector only comes on when I turn on the Ignition.
I hope I helped yuh out

Message: The fuse box is a good idea but i forgot to add that the 12v input must be connected to a +12v at all times. Im puting a headlight flasher on and i need the +12v at all times for my headlights to work right. The fuse box idea would work but then my head lights would only work when i have my truck on.

Message: In that case you can still use the Fuse Box and just find a empty fuse like I said and look for one that doesn't turn off when you turn off the ignition.
Just make sure that your not going to draw any amps through you wig-wags or what ever you got when you leave it on because it will drain your battery even with your ignition OFF.
cool?
