I have a 01 dakota 4.7 4x4, and every time i turn theres this weird popping noise in my stearing colum and my front hubs are clicking. I've had the truck about a year now. I've brought it in the dlr before with this problems it goes away temporarily and it always comes back. Does anyone else have the same problme or know what this is???

"Steering column-Popping sound on turns" You'll need to be a member to read the full TSB, but maybe you can at least point your dealer to it. It's for a 2001 4x4 4.7L...

I have that exact problem. Mines a 2000 CC Sport. Whats the deal with service bullitins? DO you just take your truck in to a dealer and they fix the problem if you have it free?

I don't think it'd be a free repair, since it's not a recall. It might be covered if your truck is still under warranty. I think a TSB just recognizes the fact that the problem has cropped up in a number of vehicles, and they've investigated it and determined that there's a problem and come up with a solution...supposedly.

Same problem here. Pop, Pop when turning the wheels. It's in the column. 97 slt 2x4 5.2

I had the same problem in my 99 within a few months after buying it new. They replaced the entire steering column and it's been quiet since.

Rich mine is a 2000 and it has either the 3 yr or 5 year warrenty. would you know if mine would be covered?
