 Subject: Safari Rack w/ Truck Cap...will it work?

While at a local fair, I went up to a display for a local truck mods shop. They had a truck there (not a Dak though) that looked pretty sharp. It had a truck cap on the back...and on top of the cap was one of those safari racks. And they mounted some off roading lights onto the front of the rack. I have two questions...
1] Is the cap alone strong enough to support the weight of the rack plus stuff the rack is holding? Or would there need to be bracing put inside the cap to support any kind of weight?
2] And I have a QC...would those lights on the front of the rack still work worth a darn on a QC? They would seem to be pretty far back.
