The SLT trim is pretty much just that. A trim line. The bumpers and grill area are chromed. My guess is that it may stand for SportLuxuryTrim??? or something to that effect. Engines are the same. Only difference is appearance and interior appointment options. It's more of the (for a lack of a better term) "luxury" or "touring" look.

I like the SLuT thing.
And don't forget, my early 01 QC also came with a thick under hood indulation, and more in the firewall to reduce interior noise. Much more plush interior, kinda like a nice car. I can hear my infinity sound system real nice.

S,SL,SLT,SLE are nothing more than just trim and option levels.
You will need a brochure (or dealers manual) for your year model truck to see what the difference is and the cost of each package.
