Message: Has anyone used this product? A few treads have people saying they were going to get it but never posted how it turned out. I would just like to know how durable, secure and how they look. I can't seem to find anyone who deals with this product to see it and as a matter of fact I can't find any roll top covers around here. New Jersey sucks.

Message: I installed mine a couple weeks ago and so far I love it. When I drive, I don't hear any noise coming from the cover but I do notice it shaking a little from the wind when I watch it in the rear view mirror. I chose this over the Pace Edwards roll top cover because it seemed a lot more sturdier to me. The only other cover that is probably stronger is the Pace Edwards Bedlocker (which is also motorized and more expensive). I did have a slight problem during the installation; I had to dremel a small area on the canister bracket where the side rails mount in order for the rails to mount flush. I have since called Retrax to inform them and they were eager to look into this and correct their template; customer service is top notch but you may want to check with them to make sure they followed up with the fix.
I should mention that the skin on this cover is a high strength plastic but it is succeptible to scratching (like all plastics) but I still prefer this over vinyl.
I suggest you find compare for yourself in person and play with the displays. Good luck!

Message: No one around me has the display. I got the sample for roll and lock and the aluminum seemed real chinsy. However we're talking about a a piece that was maybe a foot long by 6 inches. My fear is I'll drop 6 or 7 bills on a pos. Does the cover have some strenth to it? And does it keep the water out?

Message: I have had a roll n lock for over 2 years and have had no probloms. It is strong, not as strong as their old style, but i think the salesman told me it will support about 100lbs. I also like it because it keeps a$$holes from throwing trash in my bed, but any cover will do that.

Message: Check out these sites if you haven't alredy:
http://pace-edwards.com/rt_more.asp (PE roll top)
http://www.rolltopcover.com/design.html# (Retrax)
The pictures show you a cross-section of the aluminum ribbing in the cover. The Retrax looks like a more rigid design than the PE Roll-top and it felt that way to me when I played around with both displays. If you really want strong, I'd look at the PE Bedlocker which is really rigid (and more $). I never seen a display on the Roll-n-lock brand so I can't say anything about that one.

Message: ...one other suggestion. Give Dave's Tonneau Covers a call (800-734-6357) or http://www.davestonneaucovers.com/. They sell 'em all and they can give you the good and bad of each one. This is where I ended up buying my Retrax from (local dealer was more expensive).

Message: I just spoke to the retrax people and they were very helpful. they said they would send me a sample in the mail. I think this is the way to go for roll tops.
