Subject: WTF! failed emissions IP: Logged
Message: i just brought my 93 3.9CC 4x4 94,000 miles and i failed. It said i failed the NOx levels. Could this have anything to do with my intake, I have the K&N open air 14x3 filter?

Message: No. More than likely iether the cat is goe or the o2 sensor is roasted. If the cat is gone , pull the pcv vlv. out and put a $10 breather on it and plug the vacume hose on ur intake. Then check to make sure there arn't any more vacumes from the crank-case going to the intake, buy a can of carb cleaner and spray into T.B. with motor running to fully clean oil and dirt residue from intake , bring it back and have them do it again. (moral of this mod) some people will argue this but I know it works,Reducing the amount of crank case fumes sucked into the intake and burned in the cylinders dramaticaly reduces emisions and improves performance because the fumes are not combustable when compressed, hense the reason for the cat. If all pvc. and emission crap is removed there is no reason for the cat.and it will still pass, been there done that.just leave the o2's they give a voltage reading to the pcm to determine fuel freq. and ratio. Hope some of this crap helps dude.
