Subject: loud squeaking?? IP: Logged
Message: There is a loud squeaking noise from my front passenger side. It happens when I go over rough roads or bumps. Is there anything I can grease to fix this problem. I'll be dropping my Dak in a week or 2. 3" drop springs up front and 4" or 5" blocks in the back, not sure. But is there anything I can change when I do this to fix it?

Message: Is it a high pitched very quick squeek?
If so, it's probably the sway bar bushing, mines doing it right now -- I've been meaning to fix that too.

Message: I had a loud squeaking type noise when I hit bumps. It sounded like the suspension was coming apart. I took it to the dealership and took the service writer for a ride until it made the noise. They fixed it by re-installing the torsion bar. They said it had been installed improperly at the factory for some reason. Could be your problem. Mine was fixed under warranty.

Message: It's the outer swaybar bushings. Drop the carriers, slide the bushings off & grease up & reasemble. Squeak-squeak gone.

Message: WD-40 works wonders, mine was doing that too, but it was in the back, a little squirt here a little squirt there and problem solved. That was about 5 months ago, and then it kinda did it again once or twice about a week ago, but I haven't heard it again.

Message: I have to hit a bump just right in order to hear the sqeak, but it's there. I have so much to do this weekend, I found the odd tea kettle sound from other dealership and they're going to fix me up.

Message: Thanks guys, to bad my warranty is over. Looks like I'm going to have to get a day off work and tear things up. And to top things off the tranie has been slipping between 2nd and drive, I think that one is the selenoid, That will be fixed with the shift kit and selenoid from speedtweaks. Whenever I get the money saved up for that.

Message: I could make my Dak squeak at a dead stop by turning the steering wheel. After finally looking into things, it turned out to be a lot easier than I thougt it would be. First, be sure to clean the bushings. The factory must grease them during instalation, which makes them sponges for all kind of road debris. Use brake cleaner on the metal parts and detergant on the rubber. finally saturate everything with belt dressing, this is a rubber-safe emulsion that repels abrasives, wipe mostly dry and reinstal.
P.S.-- any one else find that grease?
