ok, has anyone here taken of the decals on their sport? i just took off the "dakota" in dakota sport on the driver side door and underneath was this nasty adhesive layer. how can i get this off? i already tried a sponge with the light abrasive side (dont do this! im glad that i got my truck used and this isnt the first scratch, hopefully it will buff out though) and that didnt work. what have you guys done? also, i couldn't seem to get the "sport" off. any suggestions?

I just took the decals off my 2001. Used a hair dryer to make the tape soft and peeled it off. Took some WD-40 and softned up the gum layer and used my finger to rub the gum off. Used WD-40 to do the final clean up, washed and waxed. Off course mine brand new and the adhesive was still new.

Go to your local WalMart or hardware store. There's two products that do the same thing, Goo Gone or Goof Off. After you use this stuff, you'll wonder why you never heard of it. It should be one of your standard household items. This stuff isn't just for cars. Have you ever bought a household item, e.g., a picture frame and the dept store sticks their price tag on there. You start to peel it off and unfortuantely only the top layer peels off. Sucks, huh? Goo Gone.

Rubbing alcohol works too, or a tar and bug remover. Just be sure to wash and wax after using any of these products.
