Subject: drum breaks IP: Logged
Message: i recently bought a 96 cc 4x4 with a 5.2 the drums need to be turned when i tried to get them off they wouldnt come so i beat on them and they still wouldnt come is there a latch or somthing that needs to be loose this is the first time i ever worked on a dodge all my other trucks have ben fords and they just slid off

Message: there is an ajustment wheel that you can turn to loosen the brakes up. You can get at it from the back side of the drum with a screwdriver.

Message: Even after loosening the brake adjuster sometimes they are hard to get off. I have done all kinds and you may have to get a pry bar and big hammer. Turn the adjuster all the way in so the brake shoe doesn't get hung up.
