Subject: drum breaks

i recently bought a 96 cc 4x4 with a 5.2 the drums need to be turned when i tried to get them off they wouldnt come so i beat on them and they still wouldnt come is there a latch or somthing that needs to be loose this is the first time i ever worked on a dodge all my other trucks have ben fords and they just slid off

there is an ajustment wheel that you can turn to loosen the brakes up. You can get at it from the back side of the drum with a screwdriver.

Even after loosening the brake adjuster sometimes they are hard to get off. I have done all kinds and you may have to get a pry bar and big hammer. Turn the adjuster all the way in so the brake shoe doesn't get hung up.
