Message: I just bought a 2000 QC with a 5.9L. It only had 1 new plug wire. Others did not look that great but not that bad. How much of a power loss can occur cuz of this? I put new Bosch +4's & a K&N Filter. I previously had 98 XC with a 5.2L. That was a ton faster. Both were 4X4's. 2000 is having trouble even breaking the tires loose around tight corners with the petal mashed. What should the comparison be between vehicles or possible problems be? Thanks for your imput!

Message: It is impossable to tell you what the problem is with trouble shooting the vechiles. I would check vaccum first. A vacum test will tell you right away if you have any leaks or heavly worn parts. Then if you fail the vaccum test check all gaskets and do a compression test. The last thing I would do is check fuel system pressure and spray pattern. You can check your coil and wires with a VOM/multi-meter. You should check resistance on primary and secondary side of coil and then check the resistance of each wire. While you are there check voltage to coil. I hope this helps !!!! This should get you under way.
