When have you guys done your first oli change? I am about to turn 1500 miles, and I am wondering if I should do one, wait until 3000 miles or not? Any places in Bergen County NJ where I can get a synthetic oil change done with Mobil I? Thanks again

3 months or 3,000 but i waited 5 months to get my first one done. got it done at 2056 miles. I am still under 3000 miles right now and it's almost 7 months. you can see i don't take her out as my daily driver though she's been put to good use already hauling tons of stuff.

You should get your first change done by 1500 if you want your truck to last a Loooong time. It is a good idea to change it to get rid of any pieces of metal from break in. by 1500, most of the initial break is over.

95% of accelerated wear occurs within the first 600 to 900 miles of use. You should change it!!!! AC/Delco requires/strongly recommends you change the oil in filter on one of their engine at 500 miles. You might also want to switch to Hasting or Baldwin filters. They are some of the best filters around and they will not cost you an arm and a leg. It is also ok to put synthetics in at this point. You do not need to wait to 3000 or 6000 miles.
