Message: what drop do you have? i was looking at getting a 2/3 so it'll be sorta lower but not too low, there are some monstrous pot holes here. it sucks living in the country, nobody fixes the roads and when they do all they do is dump some gravel in the holes. anyway....wise choice?

Message: Hey Leslie....what did you have to do to get your decals off? I was thinking of doing that too, but i dont want a bunch of goo left on the doors when all is said and done. Also, what did you use to heat up/remove the decals? Thanks for the info :-)

Message: The easiest way to remove the decals is w/a 3M wheel. It's like a giant eraser for a power drill. Takes'm right off.
Here's some pic.s of my truck,,I've taken the decals off, and lowered 2/2 (need some rims!)

It's in the body shop now after some hail damage. I'm getting hooked up w/a new Cowl Hood, free roll pan, and stull grille. Did I forget to mention they're FREE!! I love insurance!

Message: I used a blow dryer to heat them up first one
letter at a time. It softens the top layer which
just peels right off. The second layer, which is
white and looks like paint is a little tougher to
get off. I used "Goo Gone" (but friends tell me
3M Adhesive Remover is good) to dissolve it. I
tried various plastic knives or scrapers, but
concluded that my thumb did the best job of
scraping it off.
Yeah, I know I need a drop but I just can't right
now. I pick up my motor on the 20th, have the
space and the stand all ready :)

Message: I took mine off a while back, takes thirty minutes to an hour to do all the decals on the truck. It really is NOT that hard at all, just takes an hour, at most, of your time. It's easy, do it!
I found hairdryers do work the best, because heat guns are way to hot.
Try dental floss, works A LOT easier in getting it off, cut right through it and the letters do not break, which they'll do if it gets to hot -- really easy. Doesn't hurt your paints one bit, safest thing you can use IMHO.
I used Goo Gone myself without a problem. Goo Gone works best when it's soaked a bit in what it's on, then wiped all up. Now, just take a paper-towel and rub it and it all comes off. Most people think that it being all sloppy and keeping the area saturated will make it come off easier then think Goo Gone sucks when it doesn't work that well. Doing semi-dry works so much better, repeat this as necessary, shouldn't take more than two times -- at most!
In the end I claybared, Dawned, and Zainoed it to match the rest of the truck, looks great I think.
Just got my antennae shaved yesterday too!
Damn, kotadude21 reminded me, I should ask for paint from the paint shop today so I can paint my handles.. (NOTE)
crashyyz, I think it does kinda look naked being in stock truck form, looks good, but a tad naked. I think something like rims would really brighten it up and be an attention getter.
I took off my "DODGE" off the back, that took less than five minutes. I think, unless your truck has like a rollpan and some custom work to it, it's will look damn naked, like mine, if it's stock.
Tip for you all, if it's stock, keep the "DODGE" on there, I think it looks better if you're running a stock bumper and ride height.

Message: There was a slight shadowing with mine. I
washed it, used black wax, then buffed it and
sprayed it with Mother's Spray Wax. You can't
see any difference at all now.

Message: That's sort of the reason many people do it as soon as they get the vehicle. There is little, if ANY, weathering done to the paint at that time.
With a good waxing no one should be able to tell; as there should be a decent coat of wax on your car all the time, you would never see the difference.

Message: I took mine off with the 3M eraser wheel. All of them were off in 15 minutes. Then I used a little kerosene on a soft rag to clean up any adhesive left. 3M part number 39009 polish will get rid of anything left over(shadows, lines) and blend it perfectly. You couldn't tell they were ever there before I waxed. Black looks awesome debadged.
