Hey guys. I was just curious if anyone had tried Lucas oil products in their rides? I am running Mobil 1 and have been happy. I was at Advanced Auto and saw their demonstrator about it; looks pretty slick.

I am always looking for that little extra. Just wondering...

I am by no means an expert concerning Lucas products but I would recommend not wasting your money. Just stick with regular change intervals with the synthetic oil of your choice. Good luck.

my last truck was a 93 ranger with 4 cyl and a stick. I replaced one quart of oil with lucas oil on every change after it got 75K miles on it. It had 175K when I got my '02 dak. Nothing ever broke on the entire truck, which is pretty amazing considering that at least 30K of those were on dirt roads / off road. My family farms, so I was a cotton scout for 6 years. Considering the conditions, the engine held up extremely well. Maybe it had something to do with the lucas, maybe it didnt. I dont know.

btw - i didnt trade the truck. we put a 4.11 in it and it is still working merrilly along at the farm. I am a dodge guy, but the two fords I have owned were both damn good trucks.

yeah lucas oil products are good, and dont let anyone tell you they are snake oils cause they arent, they are made of petroleum products just like your oil is. i work at a parts store and we sell lucas and i swear by it, their power steering stop leak is awesome too. and proof of how good their stuff is. our delivery truck is a 1994 s-10( i know it sucks) but it has a 4.3l v6 and when brand new had a ticking in the valvetrain well tried everything and so did the dealer to eliminate it. well at about 12000 miles we started using lucas oil products in every oil change, now the truck has 237,000 miles on it and there has been nothing done to the engine, nothing the valve covers haven't even been off. well I hope this helps and they mix with synthetic oils too, i am planning on using lucas with my mobil full synthetic that i use in my 99 v6 dak hopefully i can get it to last 237,000 miles like the s-10. well good luck

My Dad has an Old Toyota Starlet 1982. The main bearing and shaft in the 5 spd trans is going bad and the parts excedde the value of the car. It howls realy bad. We drained the old gear lube out and filled it full of Lucas. The howling is gone and it shifts great. I have used it in vechiles before and have never had any negative results with it. I have also used it for alot of other things. I do not currently use it in my Dodge and do not intend to. I am going to run Amsoil synthetic oil as soon as my supply of Mobile 1 runs out. I can see useing it in diff.'s and in transfer cases and manual transmissions but I doubt it will do any real good for your engine unless it is realy worn badly.
