Message: Well partners I've been away for awhile and am glad to have my computer up and running again. We made the move from Texas to Wisconsin with only minor troubles and just thought I'd share the experiences we had with the Dak.
We drove roughly 1000 miles, give or take 20mi, and averaged 14-15 mpg. We ran an average of 60-65mph(my wife drove the Dak, I drove the moving truck)the Dak's bed was full and the truck was pulling a 5x8 enclosed trailer that was loaded to the roof.
Glad to say that we had no troubles from the rear end or trans. In fact the truck performed better than I anticipated.
Only one problem occurred in Missouri when a van attempted to enter the highway at 40mph when we were doing 65mph. My wife was behind me and I had to get onto the brakes rather hard, well so did she and it caused the trailer to hop and Dang near fly up into the bed. Fortuanatly the van pulled into the shoulder and a potential castastrophe was narrowly avoided. We stop and discovered that the ball on my hitch had stripped and was a bit bent so after purchasing a new one we we back on our way. So far no problems with the truck.
Sorry for the epic just wanted to share the info and experience.

Message: SuperBee-- My wife graciously purchase a heavy winter coat for me when she arrived here in March. Fishing gear..got it..but I'm not too comfortable with that whole sitting on a frozen lake thing in a shack. A snowmobile would be great but first I'll have to sell my dirt bike(and that's a hard sell, I love my bike). Will I have to purchase a set of snow tires? Will chains work? If ya'll see a white QC on the side of the road this winter its just a damn Texan desperately trying to adjust.
EDAM---lucky hell, it was divine intervention. My wife had never pulled a trailer before. Now about the cheesehead thing. first and foremost,; although i am from the Dallas area I am and have been a die hard Steelers fan since birth. My family, of course, are die hard Cowboys fans. In short, I was kindly mentioned to me that I would, in effect, be disowned should be caught wearing any dairy parafanalia. although i am partial to Bubba Franks.

Message: S.Allen---my wife transferred up here in March. Believe me it was not an easy decision to leave the great state of Texas, but the money is great and the telecom industry back home ain't that good right now(the industry i'm in). So we felt a change might be good for a bit. Personally I was hoping for Colorado or Georgia, but this opportunity worked out better. Still, I'm already missing Texas; no MRS Bairds bread here, Ranch, Style Beans, Can't find a decent jar of Salsa, and I have yet to find a good honkey tonk t ogo scoot a boot.
