Message: I make ocassional trips to LA from my home, but on the way to LA there is a mountain at an elevation of 4000 feet. Every time I drive uphill with my V6 Quad Cab, it lacks power so I turn the Overdrive Off and drive uphill at almost 80 mph.
Am I really damaging my truck by driving uphill 80 mph with the Overdrive off?

I tried driving uphill with the overdrive on but it's in the same RPM range (3000) and it feels really unstable. More like a fast revving sound from the engine.
With the overdrive off however, it's a slow revving sound, which feels much more stable.
Any ideas? Thanks.
