Message: The roller rockers are fairly simple to install. Hardest part would be adjusting them properly, but there is always help here. If you are going to use the stock valve covers, you might have some clearance issues with the baffles in the covers. just need to be pouned in a little with a block of wood and a hammer.

Message: 1.Pull the vlv. covers off,
2.Turn the crank pully by hand, so that #1 clylnder is at top dead center(both push rods come all the way up and are equal length, loosen the rocker arm nuts and remove them, pull off the rocker assy.'s, pull the push rods out(keeping track of which vlv'to replace it to) and clean the ends w/ gas and fine steal wool, replace the push rods exacly the same orientation and location they were removed because of the vlv. guides where them all diferentely, replace the old rockers for that cylinder with the new roller typ,a little red or white grease is good to lube the roller and the push rod guid while assembling.replace the nuts and tighte them down approx. 50-60 ftlb don't know the spec for yur motor, but i'm almost pos. that yuo got hydrolic lifters and non adjustable lash,ie- lash is adjusted by the lifters you can check this prior to disasembly by trying to tighten the old rocker nuts.(if u can't tighten them-they are self adjusting, if u can u may wan't to get a book cause that would be a long post for me to explain but I will if I have to)Now ,
3.Turn the crank pully again by hand until #2 is at top dead center and repeat 2. and so on until yur done.
4.you may have to smash in your baffles a litle to accomodate the rollers but it won't hurt aything.don't get the aftermarket covers cause the have half the hold down bolts.Yes you can do this yourself in fact you are 100% better off that way. plus you will feel alot better bout the mod cause u know u did it the right way and it's not gonna Fu#K up on you.cause theres alot of sh!ty things bad mechanics do when doing this mod. (ie-Don't keep track of push rods , put them where they did not belong don't clean them ect. and so on. oh whel hope I helped ya out dude.

Message: Don't take the baffles out, Bernd of SpeedTweaks gave this tip: Pound the
baffles in about a 1/4" and use 2 valvecover gaskets.
This is how I did mine, if you put a straight edge across the bottom of the
covers and measure , they are 1 and 7/8" I took a piece of 2x4 and pounded
them in till I could measure 2 and 1/8" -1/4" and stopped there. The
Surelocks are what will hit the baffles not rockers themselves
Go to AutoZone and get you a new set of FelPro Rubber gaskets VS 50420 R to
use ontop of your factory one if they are rubber and if you don't damage
them removing the covers
>Have they been worth the effort?
Ohh YEAH.......................................: ) Don't get discouraged
you truck will run and idle rough after you reset the PCM then after about
2-300 miles you will start to see the effects of them.
I chose the 1.7 RR's over Headers as I read about to many loosing their low
end TQ with them, I feel it was a good choice now, I have about 800 miles on
them and the truck has a lot more TQ up the power band now.
I CAN'T SAY THIS ENOUGH TAKE YOUR TIME ! Crower says 3 hr I took 7-9 hrs
over 2 days (let the Loctite on studs set up)
Check these sites out as I did and you'll pick up some more great tips from
myself and others.
