Subject: clear marker light set question
IP: Logged

Message:
I just bought a pair of clear marker lights from a seller on eBay. Can anyone tell me what size torx wrenc I need to get them off? if it is a torx, I looked quick, and that is what it look like to me. Has anyone bought the lights from eBay and if so, how did you go about installing them? I was told there i sno need to crimp and cut wires, but it came with one light bulb attached to a set of wires? Any help would be appreciated before I take apart the lights to look for myself. Thanks

The torx is a T10, the screw is long, about 3". I installed a set on my 02 and did not need the extra socket the originals fit.

1997-1998 (some 99's too) Dakotas came with a soft 4-prong (+ shaped) rubber connector for the outermost parking light.

(some 99's) 2000-2002's have a hard 2-prong (- shaped) plastic connector.

Some older APC clear corners have the + socket design, the newer ones have the - socket. The old ones come with an extra pair of + sockets for newer trucks so you can swap them out.

The newer Euro/Diamond clear corners are designed around the newer - socket.

All you need to install clear corners is a T-10 Torx bit. I have pictures and instructions on how to install these on my website:
