Jason, I am glad you asked.

In order to respond let me state that a vehicle owner should always try to stay within manufacturers recommended guidelines. However you have options depending upon where you live and your driving conditions. A lot of people have emailed me asking about 0W-30 and I responded with this post which I hope you find beneficial:
-----------
Regarding Viscosity Grades ("0W-" in particular for discussion)

" 0W- " is a viscosity GRADE, not a viscosity MEASUREMENT.
When testing for cold fluidity, the temperature is lowered approximately 5 degrees centigrade between each test.

The Cold Crank Simulator Apparent Viscosity is tested at:

-20 C for 10W-
-25 C fpr 5W-
-30 C for 0W-

It is my understanding that the oil has to be labelled at the lowest temperature it meets the specifications.

It may not be long before someone comes out with a " -5W-30 " which would correspond with -35 C. I am certain oil companies will do this soon (negative grade oil) as a "marketing ploy" so that vehicle owners become more comfortable with "0W-".

Since you live in Arizona, Cold Crank is not such a concern so I would recommend you use manufacturers specifications.

Jon,

I am bumping this for Jon.
He sent me an Email and he will understand.
This Thread deals with Viscosity. You can also do a Forum Search for "Viscosity".

Billy,

If you see this ... I answered you direct regarding Amsoil 100:1, 2-Cycle Oil.

As to warranty, if you search for "Warranty" or "Amsoil Warranty" I believe you will find the answers to the questions you asked.

Hope this answers your questions.

Sincerely,
