Subject: How do I get paint off of my paint??!! IP: Logged
Message: Goddam hi-way crew was painting the white dotted lines in the middle of the road. Before I realized it was wet I ran over one & splattered the side of my truck with white paint! How do I get it off without screwing up the good paint?

Message: Been there, done that too! It may sound funny to you, but if a a vigorous polishing with FINE auto polish doesn't work, then try auto paint reducer on a clean soft 100% cotton cloth to CAREFULLY soften and wipe the paint off much like one uses a bug and tar remover. Take the usual precautions when using any solvent, i.e. KEEP FROM FLAMES, USE IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA, and USE GLOVES.
I will add some words of CAUTION HERE, ... DON'T let the reducer stay on the paint long and immediately dry all traces of it off. Also, limit it's use on any one area and always move on doing small areas at a time. Finally, wax over the areas immediately after you're through.
After you're through your task, I advise you gradually build up your wax protection with several layers over the next few weekends and then maintain it. I find that the thicker the coat of wax, the easier it is to remove almost anything from bugs, bird droppings, to even bridge paint overspray with just a little soap and water!
Good Luck!

Message: No, No, No
Use a "clay" bar.. with water or Mist-N-Shine
The directions are right on the products. You should be able to get them at any auto parts store!
Works very well!!

Message: Before you try any chemical, reducer, or abrasive..try Coca-Cola! It has to be original formula, no caffeine free or Pepsi or anything else. It works great for tar, asphalt and sometimes paint. Its cheap and if it doesn't work then go with the above mentioned reagents.
