 Subject: got smoked by a 360!!

yesterday on the way home from work i pulled up to a red light next to a 360. No not an R/T, a 360 modina, as in 01 ferrari (some guy in my area has one).so i reved on him and flored it. kinda looked at me and smiled,we were doing about 50, side by side and he got on it. It sounded like a motorcycle,when he spun the tires at 50 and left me in the dust. I guess ill have to dump a viper engine in the kota and go hunting for a 360! latter

I built a 86 camaro that has 560 hp and the car looks like a peice of junk. When you pull up to a car like a ferrari and he looks at you like you have no chance then trys to leave you and you step on the gas and smoke him. The look on there face is like "why did i waste all that money."
Get a viper.

Marty, the ferrari will smoke your 86 camaro in the twisties (incase you don't know, theirs a big difference between a 86 camaro and a 2001 ferrari). and why did you wast your money hooking up an 86 camaro? maby a 68 or 69, but an 86? you should have bought a mopar, and hooked it up, insted of jumping on the chevy bandwagon. Not only that, but imagine how many chicks the guy in the ferrari gets compaired to you and your 86 piece of junk! latter

Hey Kota who are you to tell what he should do. I have a buddy that bought a 68 mustang from a junk yard for 150. He put 3500 into it and he could toast anything on the road. He could lift the front tires into 2nd gear. and leave rubber into 4th I could only do it into 2nd. To each to theire own.

hey jay, im not knocking him, hell my friend has a 68 camaro that looks like crap and he beat my other friends supercharged 98 salene mustang. i dont care what he drives or what your friend drives. I just dont think that a 86 camaro that he admits "looks like a piece of junk" should be compaired with the beauty of a ferrari 360 modina
you got to remember, i live in southern california, where image is everything, so if your not crusing down sunset blvd. in a bently, a ferrari or a dakota sitting on 20s (hee hee) your nothing.

You are right i should have done up a mopar but i am young and couldnt afford the parts. As for a ferrari to beat me no way. This car could probably take out a viper. It does the 1/4 in 9.9 it also has nitros. The engine is balanced and blueprinted 358 with bowtie heads. Purple rods and high horse power pistons all connected to a 3 speed tranny that is reinforsed with alloys and composits. IT is a pure drag car. It has a 130 mile range on 60L of gas. I had it at a top speed of 170 and thats when the front end started getting lose. But the outside does look like a peice of crap. The whole car is a peice of plastic. I should have done up a 70 challanger or 69 charger. But the reason i built this because the parts for a gm are way cheaper and more available then for a mopar.

Also i live in Toronto canada. Were looks are only %50 the other half is results and sound. In california i would probably be wanting a diffrent car somthing with class and style. but here i just want somthing that can destroy. See ya.

ok marty, i understand the price factor,and i know its set up for dragracing.I know you will beat the ferrari in a straight line. What i said was "the ferrari will smoke your camaro in the TWISTIES". The ferrari has a far superior suspencion. I love sleeper cars, I agree with you when you say you like to suprise people. But I disagree with you when you say a ferrari is a wast of money. If you have the money to buy a car like that, money is not usualy a factor. With all the looks that car gets, and the handleing capibilities, it would be a fun car to own.

Ok now i get ya. For sure it will out turn me. But I think that if i had unlimited resorses i would get a viper or a kick ass truck from dodge. But thats just me. Take it easy.

Hhahahaha thats like a 9 month old ad...lol...i got a 67 chevy p/k that turns 8 sec flat but the track is 1000 feet though so in the quarter that would be 9.50 seconds.Someone keep these old posts from coming back from the dead...lol.You know the ferrari would be an A$$ GETTIN SON OF A BICTH.

If u had the cash to play with ur ride u wouldn't waste it by purchasing a low boost s/c on that chuckwagon motor of ur's cause it'll pop with any more. You would buy a 360 short block, change rings to increase the compression, port the heads, change the cam profile, and put carbs on it. throw that f/i sh!t in the garbage dude. and all those cars on fast and furiouse are B/S man.Get out of yur dream world and learn about horsepower and how to make it dude, it,s not by watching F&F and calling up speedtweeks and seein if they can get that sh!t to fit on ur truck.U prolly got 4 or 5K worth of bolt on crap and what do u pull in the quarter 13"s come-on man that sucks! My 17 year old neighbor gets 13's in a $1,500 nova with a 350 in it that he built himself. BOTOM-LINE_______ Some people know how to go fast . others want to but don't know how , perhaps when ur old enough u will realize ur stupidity and that speed tweeks and bolt ons arn't the answer.

Eric...was it a Grey 360?? there are a couple of those in San Dimas running around...one 360 Spider, and I have seen a yellow 360 Challange (the race version with plastic windows, roll cage etc.) I would be proud to have a guy in a ferrari even make an attempt to race me....I would never consider a Ferrari a waste of money..even if it is the price of a small house...360's are possibly the most beautiful car's in existance...I love the way they sound at around 7500rpm...I will own one of those one day...after school and such...it may be 5 years old but I need one...

egghead, not that i have to explain myself to your geo driving ass, but i thought i would. i bought the truck when i was 18 and didnt really have money. im a few years older now, and money is easier to come by, so i just started hooking up what i had. old cars are cool, but not a good daily driver IMO.
and yeah i have a powerdyne...but i got it cheap, and it does the job, so why not save a few $$$ when possible?

How the fug does changing the rings increase the compression? In case you did not know the rings just seal the pistons to the cylinder wall. The compression is determined by the volume of the combustion chamber at the top of the stroke. You can increase the compression by milling the heads down, milling the deck down, getting pop up pistons, or heads with smaller combustion chambers. BTW 13's is OK in my book for a daily driven 4250 pound truck. But, 13's for a nova with a built 350 sucks. Oh yeah, you are a fuggin dipstick.

Milling the heads will not increase compression, it will increase the compression ratio. Bad rings can cause a loss of compression due to blow-by. I think that's what he was talking about.
2000 4.7 CC auto, clear corners, Magnaflow catback, Kenne Bell s/c.

Understand that not everyone can afford the sh!t all of you can afford. Second if you dont know what the holy hell you are talkin about shut your freakin mouth. I may not be old but I am wise in the way of the engine. I have been mentored by one of the best engine builders in my home town. You all talk a big talk but I have a feeling you cant walk the walk. I may not have a rolls royce or a bentley. No as a matter of fact I have a nice little dodge with a sissy a$$ little V6 in it. so maybe all you should be thankful for what the hell you have and grow a pair.
