Subject: Fluid Sound under Dash IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone experienced the sound of fluid sloshing around under dash on passenger side.
I suspect it is related to heater hoses , but never had a vehicle have these sounds loud enough to hear over a moderate radio. Should I be worried ? Or is this typical Dakota .There is no leaks, just sounds like a couple of partial coke cans left in the glove box sloshing around with heat on or off .

Message: Sounds like your condensation line for you AC is plugged up. What you hear sloshing around is water produced by your AC running in hot weather. There is a small drain hose that leads outside the truck. This probably has become blocked with some crud or mildew. Have it blown out. If it gets bad enough, water will actually slosh out onto your floorboards, or could even get blown out the AC vents!

Message: No noise when engine is stopped so fluid is being pushed somehow ? thru hoses.(it is definitely not gas tank)
I am going to look for drain hose THomas suggested in his post above , although it does it without airconditioning on, but perhaps it is remmnants from winter condensation or something like he suggested.

Message: Yes, I have experienced this also. Didn't think anything of it until a few days ago, thought it was probably just from the A/C. However a few days ago I had my truck parked outside while at work and it rained really hard that night. The next morning I find that the passenger side floor is soaked with water. I believe that the water came in through the vent somehow, don't know how as I have never had this happen with any vehicle I have owned previously. In my opinion, this was way to much water to have come from the A/C. Any way I will be paying a visit to the dealership to see what the problem is. I have a 2002 Dakota CC SLT 4.7/Auto.

Message: don't know how yours is set up but my 97 3.9 has the window washer fluid bottle bolted to the firewall directly behind the pass. side dash. There is a float in mine that rattles and sounds like water is sloshing around every time I get low enough in fluid to set off my dashlite that tells me I am low in washer fluid. I fill up the tank and the sound goes away.

Message: Check your coolant level. Mine will do this if it's even slightly low.

Message: my truck does this too, evidently my truck is too loud to hear it when the engine is running LOL
i hear it when i shut the truck off, i was thinking it was, as you guys said, a/c lines or coolant or something, but your other suggestions seem really valid, about the washer fluid...gonna check into that...

Message: Not all that fast just yet. 13.3@108 mph first time out on the 20" street tires. No traction and a miserable tune.
We'll be working on the PCM shortly and I would expect it to go somewhere in the low 12s on slicks.
