Congrats... I've had my special ordered 4x2 SLT+ CC 4.7/auto (silver) for about a week and a half now... and I LUV it!!! :-)
Mine only took 4 weeks from order to delivery as well (though I've heard some real horror stories of people waiting much much much longer.)
Anyway, congrats and enjoy! :-)

Quick question - I ordered the slate gray interior and the seats and lower half of the interior are slate gray. However, the headliner, visors, and basically the whole top half of the interior are a light beige color. Is that normal or did they run out of slate gray components?

LOL thats normal Rich_S, I also ordered a 2002. I believe the SLT's have a one color dark slate. If it's that bad you should be able to swap.

I have the taupe in mine (which really looks much more like a like gray than taupe IMO)... and the upper part of the interior is lighter than the rest of the taupe interior as well. Guess that's just the way the do it.:-)

I have an SLT+ and mine has the hideous two tone interior also. I want to dye the headliner light gray and paint all the taupe parts light gray for a gray 2 tone look and get the seats recovered in 2 tone gray leather. I think it would be sweet, but I heard that if you dye the headliner it will not dye evenly and look nasty. Anyone have any info on the interior paint the rice boys use and if dyeing the headliner will work??

I know you guys are talking about interior colour, but I just wanted to know where people are?? I ordered my new Dak on March 23rd and still don't have it, and might have it by July 15th. I have talked to the owner and Daimler
NO one is too concerned. Daimler at least apologized. I am on Van Island

I for one, love the taupe interior (that's why I ordered it I guess!) And I like the 2-tone as well. Different strokes I guess! :-)

now i don't have a dakota but i do have an intrepid and after reading this post I took a good look i have the grey leather interior the dash is a darker grey..and i looked at the headliner and yup its a beige color "neutral" i guess I never really noticed it before but actually it's like a patchwork of colors the seats are light grey the dash is darker grey and black and the headliner is that neutral color this must be a common theme in Dodge vehicles
