I had fantastic luck with my dealer.... then they got a new service manager. Now it takes all of my self control to keep from firebombing the place everytime I think of the last conversation I had with the man! A single person can sink a business, and this dealership needs to send this guy on his way! I was quite a cheerleader for them before, but now I wouldn't send my worst enemy to that place!

Dave Smith Motors in Kellog, ID. They sell invoice only, no hassle and any service or help yo need, they will give it to you. What, your dealers in town will not give you a fix to something broken... call up ole Dave Smith and they'll have a nice chat with DC about it and it will. I hate my local dealership personally, they are just very bad people, forget policy, these people are scum. All I can say is not to ever buy a Dodge in Kalispell, MT -- you're just lookin' for troubble.

Good dealers are hard to find, I am not a believer in churning customers, I favour repeats.

I bought my Dakota used from Gurley Leap Dodge in Mishawaka, Indiana

I bought a set of fog lights from another dealer 2 weeks ago. I know the service guy there pretty well because of the company I work for. He came out and looked at the truck, asked where I bought it and I told him where. He said let me get your VIN number and see if there is any warranty repairs that need to be done. I asked him why. He Never told me. Come to find out there is a recall on the truck for the rear brake lines that somehow never got checked at the dealer I bought the truck from.

I now know why he checked the VIN number. Made an appointment for the following Monday and had it done in 1.5 hours. They ended up replacing the line on my truck.

The name of the dealer? Sorg Dodge in Goshen, Indiana. Even offered me a loaner car if I didn't want to wait. Told him I had nother better to do so I waited. Even washed the truck for me afterwards. I would reccomend them to anyone. Just wish I had bought the truck there in the first place.

Mark

ps- Not all dealers are CROOKS!

i have seen this post long enough, so now ill give my opinion of dealers. i have numerous dlrs to go to so i have, and the thing i have found is that for the most part they are useless. they hate it when u come to them with definate proof that u know what u are talking about. point in question first dlr i bought my trk from was useless, never fixed anything on my 91dak and my 94dak which i bought from them new. first they put 5 qts of oil in my v6 engine. i had to change it out when i got home and cked it. then just recently i went to a new dealer and when i got home from an oil change it was a quart over full and i went bak to them and said they used to much oil, and i got an arguement from the service manager until i showed him a copy of my manual that stated 4 qts of oil in a 94dak. then he really got mad that i had that info copied. sorry for rambling on i hate dealers they for the most part are not helping in the sales of chrysler vehicles. just my humble opinion.

Van Dyke Dodge is a real good dealership for me. I have been going there for 10 years. Even thought there is a dealer a lot closer to me. The closer dealer is lousy.

Lynnwood Dodge in Lynnwood, WA has been pretty good about fixing my truck. (Although they did back it into a picnic bench).

Bellevue Dodge in Bellevue, WA has not been good to me at all. The service guys and the parts guys for some reason always have different views on things. (i.e., fluid capacities, fluid types, procedure, etc...) This is after bringing it to different service 'teams' there. If you can call it that.

So far I am happy with my dealer. Team Goewey Dodge in Latham, NY. They didn't dick me around during the sales negotiations and so far the service has been good. Got my first oil change for free and there was a defect in the paint on the corner of my bedrail which they fixed under warranty no questions asked. Of course when I phoned in about that paint problem, the guy on the phone was being a prick about the whole thing saying I might have caused the paint problem. Whatever. I brought the truck in and went straight to speak with the sales manager. She looked at it and said no problem, we;ll take care of that for you. They did. Looks great. They even straightened out the piece of metal that was slightly bent. I get a call a few days later asking if I was satisfied with the work. They even asked if there was anything I could suggest to make things better. Let's hope they continue like this.
