I am a quaility assurance engineer and work for a company that supplies parts to DC. On my last visit to the plant I had the opertunity to talk to a development engineer who stated "no 4.7HO or 5.7 before 2004 at the earliest".

R/T with 345 hp....drool...
dogde should make an R/T with the new viper engine, i dont know why they put it in the fat ass ram...that thing is way to big to be that fast

I wouldn't say running mid to high 12's with the light rear end of a truck bed is anywhere close to being slow

i hear ya, but I think this truck was more designed more for straight line performance than handling, but with 305/35 BFG g-force T/A's it wont be a slouch on the road course along with its beefed up suspension.
