Message: I was looking through a truckin mag when I spotted a small add for a flame thrower kit. I didn't know that was a kit kinda thing, always thought that was strictly a custom thing. I have seen that in the movies but I have never actually known anyone to have that on their car. How do those things work? Are they safe? I wouldn't mind haveing that on my project car, for SFX, ut I don't see how that would be very safe? And I would probably hit the button at a redlight and actually set the cop behind me, that I didn't know was there, on fire (my luck) If anyone has any comments lemme know.S~

this is one of the places I found. There is another, but it's page looks almost the same (kinda cheesy) and the FAQ is the same. hummmmmmmm I wonder if there is a a catch here?
I have duel exhaust strait out the back, so that would look awesome I think. (maybe the kid in me) especially if I could EVER GET MY FREEKIN ROLL PAN IN!!!!!!!!!! sorry,S~

They recomend you not to do this if you have cats. I wonder if pre-cats count? I completely gutted the 3rd cat.

Message: have your dak run rich and have someone strike a wind-resistant lighter against your exhaust while having to hold onto the tailgate as you do 50mph down the street. personal experence

Message: Did this once using windshield washer reservior and pump filled with good ol' HEAT. We used a spark plug about 6 inches down stream of the hole that we tapped into the tailpipe for the winshield washer nozzle. The spark plug was about 10 or 12 inches in from the tip if I remember right. It was a two button system 1 to activate the spark plug which was a toggle (turn it on and leave it) then the 2nd was a momentary switch for the windshield washer pump which was pressed to feed the HEAT into the exhaust flow. Fire on demand. You dont have to loos spark to the engine either. There are a variety of ways to get a spark not the least of which is set up an independant coil. It doesnt have to be a billion volts or any such BS, just throw a spark. It helps to use a fine mist nozzle we used a stainless steel one from a greenhouse mister system. You will want to pay special attention to mounting locations heat shielding and using fuel lines not the rubber windshield washer ones.
BE ADVISED.. the system described as the DRAGON will not work on EFI vehicles unless you get the super whatever the F$UCK. It could cause some major cpu problems because you interupt the spark for long enough a time period for the engine to die. Imagine having all of your plugs trip the fowled out code in the cpu wouldnt that be fun. Also just thought you all should know that regardless of where you buy these "KITS" their is only one manufacturer under the name SPIT FIRE. Everyone else is just reselling their kits which retail for about $85.
Good luck to the brave soul that gets one though.

Message: Blued,
You are so right, I have been tinkering around with this for some time now.
Also remember the size of the exhaust tip will have an affect on how the flames come out.
The smaller the pipe will create A blow torch effect.
The larger pipe will produce A more yellow flame.
The gases coming out of the exhaust pipe move fast, causing the blow torch effect, but when coming out of A tip ( just like the 4" chrome tips )the gases will slow down and have more time to burn.
Remember, with the bigger tips the flame will not go out as far. So keep that in mind if you have your tailgate down.
try going to

for some ideas.
