Message: Paint doesn't adhere well to chrome unless it is scuffed well (sandblast with glass beads).

Message: like dr d said if you try putting paint on chrome, it wont stick. Sand blast it and when you get ready to paint it heat the surface of the intake up with a propane torch. Just enough to evaperate the moister of the surface of the item and start with a light coat, let dry for about 15 mins and heat up again. You should see a little more moister evap, when you do put on the finish coat. If you follow this advise it should come looking really good.

Message: 'preciate the help.
I painted a tailgate cover that was chrome and it has done fine... so I think I should be able to do it and make it turn out ok... oh, and swirl marks with sandpaper works for scuffing as well.
