i want to weigh my truck, so my question is where do i start? who do i call? how much is it usually? i live in south east michigan if it helps.

Go to a landfill with some waste. They weigh your truck going in and then going out. This way they charge you by the weight of your refuse. Well take the going out weight and subtract your body weight. Voila. Easiest way if you're really that curious. good luck.

Landfill.. Rock place.. just about anywhere that sells big things by weight. Or buys things buy weight.

There's a rock place right down the street.. I just go in and ask if I can borrow there scale. Then again they know me by now because I'm there all the time buy rocks for my parrents back yard.

I went to a local produce wholesaler. They have scales to weigh the semi trucks. Cost me $10 I think.

go to any major truck stop along the freeway. if you see a bunch of rigs sittin out back then there is probably a scale there.

i think it costs about 10 dollars. i had to do when i moved last september and the Navy was paying for it.

I don't know about other drag strips, but Houston Raceway has a scale that is geared towards lighter vehicles and is likely more accurate.

BTW - My 2001 QC weighed in at 4680 lbs with me (240 lbs) and a 1/4 tank of gas.

I could shave about 2 tenths off my time if I'd get my spare tire and my truck's spare tire out of there!!!
