Message: Fram used to make high quality filters, but rumor has it(secret insider source)that when they got the contract to be sold at Walmart, the pressure was on to provide such low prices that they had to cheapen their materials. So instead of metal endcaps and proper bypass valves, they use cardboard endcaps and failure prone cheap plastic bypass valves. Stories abound about these things failing and going into bypass mode almost immediately after installation, so having a Fram filter on there is like no filter at all.
You get what you pay for !!! If we wnated "cheap and Shotty" ... we would all drive stock Isuzu's.

No offense but maybe you should have posted this at the bottom of one of the other "filter" subject boards. That way we don't have 50 posts on oil filters.
Here is my 2 cents: Fram touts their 97% single pass efficiency, but never gives multipass numbers, since they are afraid to admit that these filters get considerably worse as soon as oil has gone through them for a few miles.

Message: Having worked for a Walmart supplier, I know they have huge clout when it comes to setting pricing. They tell you exactly how much they will pay for an item and you figure out how to make it for that price. If you're real lucky, you might make a profit. I have nothing against Walmart, I shop there myself, they're just tough to do business with.

Apparently you have not reviewed the (now infamus) "Oil Filter Study".
Here it is for you to read yourself;
