I read on here somewhere that not all daks come with tranny coolers so I thought it was just a factory performance addition (sport model)???

I believe the daks that don't have them are all manual boxes. I think it is an option to have an axilary cooler put in at the factory. Trust me, it's much cheaper to buy more fluid that replace the whole trans. I have a 94' and burned up the automatic trans. I had an auxilary cooler which the transmission shop plumbed the system through. The stock cooler was shot because it was full of trans guts that got blown through the system. If you need to fix it you can get an auxilary cooler, bypass the stock cooler(in the base of the radiator) and run directly to and from the new auxilary unit. It's not that expensive to do, and once again, much cheaper than a new trans.

DaveR is correct. All automatics have tranny coolers, located in the bottom of the radiators. They have to have them to siphon off the heat generated in the transmission. Manual boxes don't need them...totally different design and fluid. If you buy the heavy duty package, it comes with an auxiliary cooler IN ADDITION to the standard radiator cooler, due to the increase in towing capacity...I wouldn't drive it for more than a few miles without some type of cooler, unless it's already wasted and you don't care if it burns up.
