Message: Hey all.. i will let you in on a little problem that just started happening to me today. .
So here i am driving down the road and i go to make a turn having my stereo turned up as always.. i hit the brakes.. and pop.. there goes my radio fuse in my truck.. ok whatever no biggie.. so i replace the fuse on the spot.. start driving and hit the brakes to stop and pop.. there goes the fuse again.. so i go home with the fuse blown.. and look over the wiring.. and nothing seems to be wrong.. i even re-wire my deck so i made sure nothing was hooked up wrong.. then when i go to hook it up.. i have no accessory power when i turn the key.. i was like what the Fuk.. then i realized.. oh yea the fuse is blown.. so i replace it then try it again.. works fine but as soon as i hit the brakes the fuse pops.. so what i did was i cut the accessory wire from the harness.. and wire a new line from another accessory spot and run it to the deck with a 10a inline fuse.. so its working off of another accessory power line now.. anyways same thing happenes.. it blows the fuse in the line i ran from the accessory.. But it only happens when i hit the brakes.. now why is it popping fuses.. i didnt think or still do think that the brakes are hooked upto an accessory power.. or is it.. ??
Is there a possibility there is a problem with my brake wiring.. or what is it.. i dont get it.. its always either the radio fuse that pops.. or they way i have it hooked now.. with the inline fuse.. Any help would be appreciated if someone knows what im trying to say here.. I really need to get this fixed or im going to run my dak into a pole..

Message: I will check that but i dunno.. its fine.. if i put a new fuse in.. start my truck.. play my music as loud as i want.. but if i touch my brake pedal and push it down.. pop there goes the fuse.. and of course off goes my deck because there is no accessory power going to it..

Message: Make sure when you are applying the brake , that you are not pinching any wires with the pedel itself. I did that in a '84 Olds Firenza.

Message: It may sound like you have a bad ground. When your checking wires w/a voltmeter make sure you have all lighting and accesories turned on! If you meter a lighting wire (or ACC) it will show resistance(ground) until you turn it on, then it will show +12v! It is a common mistake that most people make by using one of those wires thinking that it may be a ground, but its not!. Always rule out your lighting wiring first before continuing. If your deck has a dimmer option, use the vehicle lighting wire that does not change voltage when playing w/the dimmer sw(instrument cluster lighting). It sounds like you have the deck ground connected to the factory dimmer sw

Message: I am having the same problem, but not just when I hit the brakes. My fuse blows intermittantly. It definately seems to be a short to ground.
Does any have schematics or identified test points for this cicuit? (Radio/Dome)
