Subject: Speedometer correction? IP: Logged
Message: I'm a little confused after searching for technique to fix speedo error after installing taller tires. I have a 97 CC 5.2 auto with 3.55 rear. Replaced the factory 215-75-15 (27.7 inch diameter) with 235-70-16 (29 inch diameter). Is there more than one technique to recalibrating my speedometer/odometer? It's only off about 5-percent, but it kind of bugs me and I'd like to fix it if it isn't too difficult. Also, I purchased a Mopar Performance Computer off E-bay for a 98 5.2 auto 4wd that I plan on installing in a few weeks. Should I wait to install the computer first, then fix the speedo, or the other way around?

Message: they have an object called truespeed or true speed you can calibrate it yourself.

Message: I had to do that (just opposite)
All you have to do is switch the speed sensor gear. Unless they changed how it reads the speed from 96 to 98?
You will need a smaller gear!
