Subject: 1 quart too much IP: Logged
Message: I always used to change my own oil until recently I haven't had the time to. So I took it to some valvoline oil change place a month ago. I checked just now and it was too full, about 1/2 a quart to a 1 quart too much. Is this going to cause a lot of problems? I have a 94 V6, does anyone on this website have a 94 V6? By the way this is a great site!!

Message: Having too much oil is not good. It will sorta churn in the engine, and churning oil makes air bubbles, which does not lubricate good. I would just change out the oil and put fresh oil in again, to replace the old oil.

Message: you all know on the dipstick how they have the marks on "fill" and "safe", right? How much oil is from the bottom of the "safe" line to the top of the "safe" line? A 1/2 quart or a full quart? This how much it is above the "safe" line. I think the guy put 5 quarts in instead of 4 1/2 like I used to. I NEED TO KNOW QUICK!!!
