Subject: FINALLY!!!! IP: Logged
Message: Well my new Dak finally arrived. I picked it up earlier this week and haven't had a chance to post (too busy drivin'!). I've got about 252 miles on it and love it! Getting around 15 mpg according to the computer. I'll post some pics soon. I am really pleased with the color. It looks "deep" and not just a light gray.
Also, could someone with an slt do me a favor and look at their back bumper? The underside of it is not chromed at all on mine. Is this normal? It doesn't seem right.
Here's what I bought:
2002 QC w/ 4.7 and AT 3.92 LSD 4x4, bright silver metallic, slt plus, bucket seats, dark slate gray interior, HD service group, overhead power console, 4 wheel abs, rear slider, heated mirrors (man those things are big, great for driving but a little dumbo looking), power seat, block heater, cd with infinity system, leather wrapped steering wheel with audio controls.

Message: Congradulations on the new truck, your going to love it. I've got an 01 silver QC and get nothing but compliments. I haven't ridden in the back seat, but everyone who has, says it's as comfortable as a car. Good luck.

Message: I bought a 2002 QC SLT PLUS a few months ago. But to answer your question about the back bumper...I noticed that mine wasn't cromed either. But it doesn't look bad because I have the Patriot Blue with the grey stripe at the bottom. That stripe ties in nicely with the grey on the bumper. So you aren't alone with the non chrome bumper.

Message: Hey dakquad,
Think of those BIG mirrors as if they were WIDE screen "read-view" TV's! I don't care if they do look like "Mickey Mouse ears" - I love mine! Keep in mind our Daks are actually "mid-size" when compared to all the other "compacts", so we can get by with some "full size" accessories! My Quad has a dark tinted sliding rear window AND the topper has a dark tinted rear window, so I NEED those mirrors to back up safely!
Happy cruising!

Message: Steve-O, my bumper is chrome. I noticed the underside (flat part that faces down toward the road) is not chromed. It looks like they missed that part....anyone else notice this or is your ok?
Greaybeard, I like the mirrors too for function. They work great. They just look so big. I guess I want the best of both worlds, which is probably impossible.
BobW. I haven't racked 'em off yet. Trying to be a good boy while breaking it in. Tough, but so far I've driven like a granny!

Message: I do have to say that I like the large mirrors on the 2002's better than the large ones on my 2000 Quad cab. A little sleeker profile and around the same size.
Congrats on the truck. Watch your tranny, your paint, your ball joints, your rotors, and your idle. Other than that, you should love it. ; )
