Well I did something horrible. My sister had some k-mart bought scratch remover, and i had an itttyy bitty scratch above my left rear wheel. So I figure what the heck lets try, I follow the directions and do everything they say to do. Needless to say the scarch is still there and my clearcoat now looks like sh*t where I applied it. It looks dull and pathetic, any recomendations??

What scratch remover really does is scratch the clear coat to sand away the scratch, if that makes sence.
So what you do is get a finer scratch remover to take out what the coarse scratch remover left behind. Then polish or wax it.
Try the swirl mark remover to take out what the compound did to your truck, 3M PN 39009.

Thanks joel. That sounds about right. The stuff was not gritty it looked almost exactly like wax. I'm gonna go get some swirl mark remover and try it out!

I used some 3M scratch remover on one section of my 2000 dakota. It's a liquid scratch remover. It scratched the heck out of my clearcoat. Went away after a few months. Not sure if a scratch remover is the way to go. What do those auto-detailers user? Some kind of melting/burning process?
