Message: I used to be a shop manager and the most common problem with the cruise control was that it would loose a magnet. To explain: usually on one of the front axle shafts or on the drive shaft there is a magnet attached that passes near a pickup unit attached to a body part. This part picks up the signal from the magnet and sends the information to the cruise control unit. Most commonly, the magnet falls off or is knocked off and thus no signal is sent and the cruise does not work. Check here first.

Message: so vic what your saying is that the cruise control does not use the speedo sensor or antilock brake sensor?
that means there is a third motion sensor used just for cruise!
mine only give out in the rain!!!
Ive always figured loose or dirty wire but speedo worked and not antilock error.. very interesting
